It started as one of those late-night drives after football. The kind where the streets are empty, music in the background, and conversation drifts from small talk into the things that really matter.

We were talking about the current seasons in our lives. Ian felt stuck in his 9-5 and didn't want to live like that for the rest of his life. He always wanted a business to call his own. I, Ojoshugwa, studying my Masters in Architecture, had always been a creative. I knew there was more in store, regarding my God-given talent, and had plans to start a clothing brand at some point. IT CLICKED!

Ian said, “I believe in you. If you’re serious- let’s build it together.”

That was the turning point. A simple conversation uncovered something neither of us had fully seen before. For Ian, it was an idea he hadn’t considered until that moment. For myself, it was a goal I carried quietly for years. Suddenly, those two threads met. A fresh spark for Ian, and a long-held dream for me. In that instant, we realised our visions were aligned.

Right there in the car, 'spm.studios' was born. What started as a passing thought quickly became something we both wanted to pursue.

At the heart of this decision was something even deeper: the desire we both carry to repay our mothers for the sacrifices they made and opportunities they created to bring our families here. That responsibility and gratitude fuels everything we do. This brand is more than clothes; it’s part of that journey to honour our parents, to build something we can be proud of.
